It's Free, It's Beautiful and its local!
Lovely small park in Gloucester, not the swings kind of park (that I secretly loath!!) But the open green space for kids to run around and enjoy a picnic kind.
It has a stream with ducks and in the small Arboretum there is cattle roaming, which my 5 year old freaked at 😂
The baby slept in his pushchair the whole time so I got a good hour of fun with my eldest, he loves nagging me "let's go for a walk mummy" so it was a win win
If your local give it a go ..too many parents be stressing about filling the kids summer holidays with things to do and it can cost more than Christmas by the end of it, kids just love the simple things in life and if it's free or cheap I'm there!!😉 #freedaysout #kidsdayout2019
Christening Day (and 1st Birthday Party)
I ran around frantically Saturday ...cooking, prepping and getting everything together for our boys big day Sunday!
After 6-7 hours of chopping, peeling, cooking and clingfilming everything within an inch of its life I was all ready to make his Christening Day special.
We had his christening at our local church and they were so lovely, they asked everyone to write on little tags to give him when he is older and as a gift from the church they gave him a crochet blanket 😍
We held the "party" at a local community center in a nearby village, cute place with a garden full of toys for the kids. The weather was lovely and as it was a baby party we decided not to have music and just let the children play in the garden.
We went for a rabbit theme loosely set on Peter Rabbit, there were plant pots, rabbits, carrots, leaves and bunting with plenty of food and chocolate to go around!!
Sadly I didn't have enough time to create a backdrop for the sweet table but kids want sweets not backdrops 😂 (I will just keep telling myself that 😆)
There was a Christening cake my mum decorated, a birthday cake I decorated and my mum made a "small" smash cake for the baby. He has never had cake, chocolate or anything sweet so we all watched on expecting him to grab handfuls and shove it in!!
Much to our surprise he didn't 🤣 ...he poked his finger inspecting it, tasted it, picked off a chocolate button and slowly ate it. After a good 10-15 minutes of him wiping chocolate off his hands into his clothes and his dad's shirt 🤭 we wrapped it up!! #heonlyhadhisfirsteverchocolatecake
No one will ever brace you fully for this day...
No one will ever be able to make you fully understand how you will feel on this very day!!
I am a complete mixed bag of emotions today, I'm so sad my baby has grown up but I'm also really happy for him.
I mean it's like finding your perfect pizza.....next to a lion!!
I really want my preschooler back but I also love how much he has learnt and grown, plus I hate his tantrums and want him to outgrow them at some point!?!?
See ...I'm a mess 🤣
Today ...his last day (did I mention that?) they dressed up for the ugly bug ball and he asked if he could be a butterfly. I cut the wings and then he announced he wanted to be The Hungry Caterpillar Butterfly!
...so great start wrong shape 🤦🏼♀️ but after lots of paint, glue, sweat and tiredness we finished them and he LOVED them!! .
At the end of their last day one of the mum's gave the teachers our joint class gift, we all clapped them and it was so nice to give them a great thank you and goodbye!! Our boy had a great last day and had so much fun in Reception ....here's to (hopefully) surviving the 6 weeks holidays 🍷let the games begin!! #lastdayofschool2019 #lastdayofreception
Omg so...this time last week I set off to Wales, to my besties and we got ready to go out!! ...Like I actually did my hair, put on makeup in peace and wore a beautiful dress!! I mean I definitely don't get to do that everyday do I!?
And the best bit is, I went out OUT...shit.the.bed!
I only went to bloody Cardiff and danced around drinking JD and coke like I was single, free and responsibility free.
And why not? Because being a #30something mum and wife don't mean I can't go out and have fun.
I enjoyed it and got back to my friends at 4am.
Not going to lie though...I didn't drink too much in total fear of a hangover, because hangovers with kids don't mix and hangover as you get older lasts for days!!
I still had to scoff a load of chips before we got home and I still had to eat a cooked brekkie the next morning but it was so worth it!! #mumsnightout
